Proportion and reach

Measure the sofa seat height and mark the table outline on the floor. A gap of roughly 40–50 cm can be a useful starting point, depending on your reach and walkway. Leave room to pass the open end of a corner sofa.

One table or a pair

A single top creates a focal point; a pair can move apart or sit together. With organic shapes, the actual outline matters more than the maximum dimensions. Check where the table approaches the sofa and where people walk.

Timber, resin and everyday use

Olive wood offers strong grain and juniper distinctive colour variation. Resin can make natural openings part of the design. Discuss edges, stability and care, and use coasters rather than placing hot objects directly on the top.
