Olive wood with light and dark grain

Grain flows in different directions across this coffee tabletop. Pale areas alternate with darker edges, knots and natural openings. The top has an elongated overall outline, while the front edge follows the irregular shape of the olive wood. The material's natural character remains visible along the side as well as across the surface.

A blue epoxy river through the top

The broad blue area follows the space between the wooden sections. Smaller blue infills sit further forward as individual accents within the grain. The overhead photograph shows these areas and their transitions into the olive wood. Light reflected from the room changes the way the grain and resin are seen from different angles.

A wooden trunk base beneath the top

A substantial, irregularly shaped wooden trunk forms the base. The front and side views show how its outline extends beneath the tabletop. On a blue rug beside a light-coloured sofa, the table brings warm timber tones and blue epoxy together. The three photographs show both the top and the base of the completed piece.
