Inspiring examples from our workshop
To give you an idea of what is possible, we would love to share some special projects we have realised together with our clients. Each of these tables tells its own unique story:
- Ode to Craftsmanship (The Law Enforcement Table): For a client who is proudly employed in law enforcement, we designed a very specific table. Real handcuffs have been incorporated into the slab, between the wood and the epoxy. This gives the table a rugged, industrial and highly personal character. It is not only a conversation starter for guests, but also a daily symbol of pride for the owner.
- The Eternal Honeymoon: Wedding rings that are no longer worn (from grandparents, for example), the cork from the champagne bottle that popped during the vows, or dried flowers from the bridal bouquet; we immortalise the romance in the heart of your table. This way, love literally remains at the centre of your home.
- A Window to the Ocean: As can be seen in our recent photos, we create complete underwater worlds. For lovers of the sea, diving or the beach, we can compose tables with real sand, shells, starfish and detailed (artificial) fish. By playing with different shades of blue epoxy and transparent layers, a stunning depth effect is created. It feels as if you are looking straight into the ocean while dining.
- For the Connoisseurs: Have you saved corks for years from special wines enjoyed on memorable occasions? We can playfully incorporate this collection into the slab, creating a beautiful, warm and convivial atmosphere that is perfect for cosy dinner parties.
An interactive process: You are in the director's chair
At iQonya, you don't buy a table off the shelf; you create it. We believe it is essential that you, as the client, are closely involved in the creation process of your dream table. This makes the final table emotionally far more valuable than any piece of designer furniture.
The process unfolds in a number of inspiring steps:
- The Foundation: Everything begins with the choice of wood. In our warehouse, you can select the perfect planks yourself. Will you go for the wild, figured grain of olive wood, the warm tones of walnut, or the robust look of oak?
- The Composition: Once the planks are roughly cut to size, we invite you for the 'fitting session'. Together, we determine where the epoxy river will run and, more importantly, where your personal items will be placed. You slide, experiment and decide on the composition yourself until the layout is perfect.
- The Pour: For many clients, this is the highlight. Pouring the epoxy is a magical and irreversible moment. You are welcome to be present in person at our workshop. You will see with your own eyes how the liquid resin slowly embraces your treasured objects, how the colours merge with the grain of the wood, and how your design comes to life.
Craftsmanship and Quality from the Netherlands
Our tables are crafted entirely by hand in our own workshop in Zevenhuizen. We combine modern techniques with traditional craftsmanship. After the pour, the table is finished with the utmost care. Sanding and polishing is an intensive process that ensures a mirror-smooth surface and a deep lustre, bringing out the full beauty of the wood and the embedded objects.
