In this blog, we take you behind the scenes to show you how our unique, personal process works: from the first sketch to the final delivery of your dream table.

Step 1: Putting the Puzzle Together – The Perfect Wood and Personal Taste

Everything starts with the foundation: the wood. For many of our projects, we work with characterful olive wood or other beautiful live edge species. Finding the right piece of wood is like laying the first pieces of a puzzle. We look for slabs with a unique grain, depth and character that fit the customer's vision.

In this initial phase, personal contact is key. We don't just discuss the dimensions, but delve deeper into your wishes. What kind of atmosphere do you want to create? Do you like clean and modern, or raw and natural? By listening carefully, we gather all the elements needed to create a design that truly reflects you.

Step 2: The Magic Moment – Pouring the Epoxy Colour Together

This is perhaps the most unique part of the iQonya-process. Where many companies keep the customer at a distance, we actually invite you into our workshop for the pour. This is the moment the table gets its definitive character.

We stand at the workbench together. We experiment with pigments and mix the resins until we achieve the exact depth of colour and effect you have in mind. Do you want a deep, dark river or a subtle, transparent glow? By doing this together, it becomes not just your table, but also your creation. This involvement ensures an end result that always exceeds expectations.

Step 3: The Finish Determines the Character – Oil and Finesse

Once the epoxy has fully cured, the meticulous finishing process begins. The table is sanded perfectly flat and polished, so the transition between wood and epoxy feels seamless.

A crucial choice in this phase is the finish of the wood itself. We use high-quality oils to protect the olive wood or the live edge slab and accentuate the grain. Here again, you are in control: do we go for a light, natural finish that lets the wood keep its original colour, or do we choose a darker oil that provides a warmer, richer look? We tailor this choice entirely to your interior and the chosen epoxy colour.

Step 4: Transparency and Quality Control – Watching Your Table Grow

Making a bespoke live edge table takes time. We understand you are eager to see the result. That is why we keep you closely informed throughout the entire process. You will regularly receive photos and videos of the progress in the workshop. This way, you literally see your table grow.

Before the table is delivered, we carry out the final inspection. We make sure every detail is perfect. Only when both we and you are completely satisfied do we schedule the delivery.
