A Live Edge Table with a Unique Story

Forget standard sawn logs; this is in a league of its own. This coffee table is made from the root base of an ancient olive tree. While a standard live edge table often consists of a single flat plank, this root table offers a 3D experience full of hollows, twists and shifting colours. To make this natural sculpture practical for everyday use, we have topped it with a glass plate. This gives you the look of a raw live edge, with the convenience of a flat table.

Why Choose Olive Root Wood? The root is the strongest part of the tree. Here, the wood is harder, denser and far more wildly figured than in the trunk itself.

Visual spectacle: The glass top allows you to look right through the table. You can see the pale sapwood edges and the dark heartwood formed over the years.
Dutch craftsmanship: Cleaning and working such a root base is an intensive process. In our workshop in the Netherlands our live edge tables are made to measure.

"After seeing rivertables for the first time on the internet I found Iqonya. The original plan was to let them make a table with a ‘blue’ river. Long story short they made a fantastic table for me , not with a blue epoxy river but with a gray river. Combination of expoxy and Olivetree wood is fantastic. I was invited to Iqonya to be present during a part of the fabrication and we were able to add certain personal items in the table. I’ve added some sea sand and coins from Lebanon. I really , really like my rivertable , it still amazes me every day when I see it. Best piece of furniture I ever bought. Rose had given me great advice about making the best possible table."
