Oceans of Blue Epoxy: Practical & Hygienic Ancient olive trees are full of natural holes, knots and cracks. To make these surfaces perfectly flat, hygienic and practical to use, we fill them with high-quality epoxy. The photos show a stunning blue shade reminiscent of the clear waters of a tropical lagoon. The resin preserves the wood and makes the table water-resistant. This gives you the robust look of natural wood, but with the convenience of a modern table and a mirror-smooth surface.

Protected by Enhanced Wood Oile A dining table sees a lot of daily use. That is why we treat the table top with an enhanced wood oil, made from a special blend of boiled tung oil and sunflower oil. This oil penetrates deep into the pores, nourishing the wood and making it resilient. It offers excellent protection against moisture and greying. On olive wood, this oil acts like a magnifying glass: the deep, honey-like tones become warmer and more intense. Should the oiled timber begin to look a little dull or dry over time, it is easy to refresh it yourself with a thin coat of maintenance oil. After all, a solid live edge table is a living thing!.

• Choose Your Wood: At iQonya, you are the designer of your own table. You are more than welcome to visit our timber yard to hand-pick the raw olive wood slabs we will use to craft your table.

• Choose Your Epoxy: Would you prefer a colour other than blue? Together, we will choose the perfect colour for the epoxy. We often invite our customers into the workshop to be there for the pour; you can watch the pigments being mixed and see your table come to life.

• Choose Your Base: The table is best supported by a robust steel base, ensuring maximum stability and a bold, industrial touch. The photos show a black steel matrix base (spider leg), which is also highly practical: it allows you to tuck your chairs in anywhere around the table.

Sustainably Sourced At iQonya, we select our timber with the utmost respect for nature. We never cut down healthy trees. Our slabs are sourced from trees that had reached the end of their natural life cycle, or that had to be felled for safety or development reasons.
