For this modern dental practice, iQonya was commissioned to create an absolute showstopper: a bespoke reception desk where luxurious black marble seamlessly merges with solid olive wood and vibrant blue epoxy.

The Design: A Meeting of Marble and Olive Wood

The design of this desk is all about contrast and balance. The base of the desk is crafted from elegant black marble with a refined white vein. This exudes the clean, hygienic luxury you expect from a high-end clinic.

To break up these clean lines and add an inviting warmth, the worktop is crafted from solid olive wood. Olive wood is extremely hard and stands out for its rich, contrasting grain patterns and dark knots. This natural element ensures patients feel instantly welcome and at ease the moment they check in at reception.

Blue Epoxy: The 'River Table' Look

What makes this bespoke top truly unique is the integration of high-quality blue epoxy. Ancient olive trees naturally have irregular shapes, holes, and cracks. Instead of sawing these away, we filled these organic spaces with a fresh, ocean-blue casting resin. This not only creates a spectacular 'River Table' effect that instantly catches the eye, but it also has a crucial functional benefit.

Combining it with our epoxy resin creates a completely flat and mirror-smooth surface. There are no rough holes or cracks where dirt can accumulate. The desk is liquid-proof, stain-resistant, and easy to wipe perfectly clean with a damp cloth. This makes the top 100% hygienic and ideal for a medical environment.

Craftsmanship and Bespoke Design from the Netherlands

In our workshop in the Netherlands, we handcraft your furniture entirely made to measure. This vanity top or desk top has been CNC-milled, sanded, and polished with the utmost precision to fit seamlessly with the marble base and the equipment (such as monitors and keyboards) used by the receptionist.
