In this olive wood dining table, translucent light blue epoxy follows the irregular wood contours and openings. The elongated top has rounded ends and a dark central base. Warm grain remains visible throughout the design. The photographs show the finished table in a conservatory.

Olive wood with room for the grain

Broad wood sections form the heart of this elongated dining table. Narrow sections along the edge follow their own natural lines. Fine dark markings, knots and openings remain visible in the top. Rounded ends bring the separate shapes together within a continuous outline.

Light blue epoxy follows natural contours

Epoxy runs between the wood sections and fills the openings in the top. The photographs show its light blue shade and translucent edges. This transparency also reveals the sides of the wood enclosed within the resin. The blue creates a calm contrast with the golden-brown olive wood grain.

The finished table in a conservatory

The gallery shows the table from above, at an angle along the edge and within the room. Overhead views reveal how the epoxy is distributed between the wood shapes. The dark central base stays in the background beneath the top. The conservatory setting with dark chairs offers an example of how the design works in a bright space.
