As you can see in the photos, the wood has a beautiful, light 'blonde' tone and a lively grain with characteristic knots. Cedar: Nature's Strength (with a caveat) We choose cedar for its exceptional properties.

• Natural resistance: Cedar naturally contains oils and acids that protect the wood against insects and fungi. This makes it – compared to oak or beech, for example – much more resistant to moisture and rot.

• Maintenance: Although cedar is highly durable ("rot-resistant"), no wood is indestructible. Wood remains a natural product that reacts to sun, rain, and wind. If the table is left completely unprotected in the rain, the wood will silver over time and hairline cracks may appear as the wood moves. We therefore recommend placing it under a canopy or using a breathable cover in winter.

Maintenance & Protection To preserve the warm, golden colour of the table and maximise its lifespan, proper maintenance is essential.

• Oil: We deliver the table treated with a high-quality outdoor oil. We recommend repeating this at least once or twice a year. This nourishes the wood and creates a water-repellent layer ("water beads on it").

• Cleaning: Regularly remove leaves and algae growth to prevent moisture from soaking in.

• Base: The table rests on a heavy-duty steel base (such as X-legs or a Matrix base), treated with an outdoor coating to prevent rust.
