Dining table with grey-blue epoxy and flowing wood grain

Long grain lines and grey-blue epoxy create a gentle contrast across this dining table. Several resin channels follow the irregular inner edges of the wood. A rounded end softens the outline.

These photographs show a completed project to inspire your own epoxy dining table. At iQonya in Zevenhuizen we discuss wood, shape, resin colour and a base suited to your room. Price on request.

Grain running the length of the table

Long wood sections carry fine grain and dark natural lines. Their irregular edges determine the course of the resin through the surface. The warm colour of the wood stands out against the cooler grey-blue channels in every view.

Grey-blue epoxy with subtle marbling

Several resin rivers cross the top instead of a single straight centre strip. The close-up reveals pale swirls within the epoxy. The channels change width along the wood and meet in a broader area at the rounded end.

A dining table in its room

The wider photographs show the table beside a corner window, between grey chairs and beneath three open-frame pendant lights. They give a sense of how the surface relates to the light and surroundings. For your own design, we also consider circulation space and the position of the base.

Plan your own epoxy table

This project provides a starting point for a table suited to your dining room. We discuss three choices:

• Wood and pattern: a suitable timber, the available slabs and their arrangement across the top.
• Resin and shape: your grey-blue shade, the distribution of the epoxy and the tabletop outline.
• Use and support: your dimensions, the chairs you plan to use and an appropriate base.
