Every piece is made to the customer’s dimensions. Tops are cut to the centimetre from raw slabs that are sometimes 4–5 metres long, and a slab that is too wide for a room can be narrowed or have one side sawn straight while keeping the live edge on the other.

Materials used: Cedar wood (Cederhout), Olive wood (Olijfhout), Juniper wood (Jeneverbeshout), Oak (Eikenhout).

- Cedar has a distinctive scent and resists moisture well, which makes it the usual choice for bathrooms.
- Oak is the calm, classic option.

## Prices and lead time

- Solid live edge table: **€600–€1000 per square metre**.
- Epoxy resin table: **€1500–€3000 per square metre**.
- Where a project lands in those bands depends on the species, the dimensions, the base and the finish.
- Lead time for a bespoke live-edge piece: **4 to 8 weeks**; epoxy work usually takes **6 to 12 weeks**. Showroom pieces are sometimes available immediately.
- Custom quotes are free and given per project. Individual catalogue pieces may have a listed price.

## Common questions, answered

**Hoe onderhoud ik mijn epoxy tafel het beste?**  
Voor dagelijks onderhoud is een licht vochtige, zachte doek voldoende. Gebruik geen agressieve schoonmaakmiddelen, schuursponsjes of chemische sprays, want die kunnen de olielaag of de glans van de epoxy aantasten. Voor de lange termijn adviseren we om de tafel af en toe te behandelen met een onderhoudsolie om het hout te voeden en de kleur warm te houden.

**Is een epoxy tafel krasbestendig?**  
Een epoxy tafel is zeer hard en duurzaam, maar geen enkel materiaal is 100% krasvrij. Net als bij een gelakte houten tafel kunnen er na verloop van tijd lichte gebruikssporen ontstaan door schuivende voorwerpen. Het grote voordeel: In tegenstelling tot fineer is een massieve epoxy tafel van iQonya volledig renoveerbaar . Mocht er na jaren een krasje ontstaan, dan kan het blad opnieuw gepolijst en geolied worden, waarna het er weer als nieuw uitziet.

**Mag ik hete pannen direct op een epoxy tafel zetten?**  
Nee, wij raden altijd aan om onderzetters te gebruiken voor hete pannen en hete koppen thee of koffie. Extreme hitte kan zorgen voor kringen in de olie-afwerking of (in zeldzame gevallen) invloed hebben op de epoxy. Voorkomen is beter dan genezen!

**Kan ik persoonlijke voorwerpen in een epoxy tafel laten verwerken?**  
Ja, dat is een van onze specialiteiten. Of het nu gaat om munten, stenen, gereedschap of — zoals in een recent project — de camera’s van een dierbare . Zolang de voorwerpen droog zijn en reageren met de hars, kunnen we ze "bevriezen" in de epoxy. Dit maakt de tafel tot een uniek en tastbaar aandenken.

**Mag ik mijn eigen hout en kleur kiezen?**  
Absoluut. Bij iQonya ben je de ontwerper van je eigen tafel. Je mag zelf de ruwe planken uitzoeken (zoals Jeneverbes, Olijf of Ceder) in onze opslag. Daarnaast bepalen we samen de kleur van de epoxy. Tip: Wij nodigen klanten vaak uit in de werkplaats om aanwezig te zijn bij het gietproces . Je ziet dan live hoe de pigmenten worden gemengd en hoe jouw tafel ontstaat.

**Hoe weet ik zeker dat het blad precies past tussen mijn muren?**  
Badkamermuren zijn zelden 100% haaks. Om kieren te voorkomen, bieden wij een unieke kartonnen malservice . Je maakt thuis eerst een mal van karton die precies past. Wij gebruiken deze mal vervolgens in onze werkplaats om het hout exact op die vorm te zagen. Zo garanderen we 100% pasvorm, zelfs bij scheve muren.

**Wat kost een epoxy tafel?**  
De prijs van een epoxy tafel is volledig afhankelijk van jouw specifieke wensen. Zo varieert de vierkante meter (m²) prijs tussen de 1500 en 3000 euro. Factoren die de prijs bepalen zijn de gekozen houtsoort (bijvoorbeeld exclusief Olijfhout of Jeneverbes), de afmetingen van het blad en de hoeveelheid epoxy die nodig is voor het gieten. Omdat epoxy een kostbaar materiaal is en het handmatige proces (mallen maken, gieten in lagen, schuren en polijsten) arbeidsintensief is, ligt de prijs hoger dan bij een standaard tafel. Zie het als een investering in een kunstwerk dat een leven lang meegaat. Tip: Neem contact met ons op voor een vrijblijvende prijsindicatie op basis van jouw ideale maten.

**Hoe houd ik mijn boomstamtafel in topconditie?**  
Een massieve boomstamtafel leeft! Om het hout mooi te houden, zijn er drie gouden regels: Klimaat: Hout reageert op vocht. Probeer de luchtvochtigheid in huis rond de 50–60% te houden. Dit voorkomt dat het hout gaat werken of scheuren. Bescherming: De tafel is afgewerkt met een hoogwaardige olie die beschermt tegen vuil. Gebruik toch altijd onderzetters om kringen van hitte of vocht te voorkomen. Opfrissen: Wordt de tafel na verloop van tijd wat dof of schraal? Je kunt de tafel eenvoudig zelf licht opschuren en voorzien van een nieuw laagje onderhoudsolie. Hierdoor krijgt het hout zijn diepe kleur en bescherming weer terug en ziet je tafel er weer als nieuw uit.
